Zabofloxacin is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic developed for the treatment of bacterial infections, particularly those caused by Gram-positive bacteria such as *Streptococcus pneumoniae* and methicillin-resistant *Staphylococcus aureus* (MRSA). It acts by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, enzymes essential for DNA replication and cell division. Zabofloxacin was originally developed by Dong Wha Pharmaceutical in South Korea. Its primary indication is for respiratory tract infections, including community-acquired pneumonia.
