Overview

Zansecimab is a humanized IgG4 monoclonal antibody that selectively targets angiopoietin 2 (Ang2), a key regulator of angiogenesis. By binding to Ang2, zansecimab inhibits its interaction with the Tie2 receptor, thereby blocking phospho-Tie2 induction and suppressing new blood vessel formation. This mechanism was designed to provide anti-tumor effects in solid tumors and has also been investigated for reducing the risk of acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) in patients hospitalized with COVID-19 pneumonia. Zansecimab was developed by Eli Lilly and Company and has undergone clinical evaluation both as monotherapy and in combination with other agents such as ramucirumab[1][2][4][5].
