Overview
Zastaprazan + clarithromycin + amoxicillin is a triple therapy regimen being evaluated for the eradication of Helicobacter pylori infection. The regimen combines zastaprazan, a novel potassium-competitive acid blocker (P-CAB), with the antibiotics clarithromycin and amoxicillin. Zastaprazan, developed by Onconic Therapeutics, works by inhibiting the gastric H+/K+-ATPase enzyme, providing rapid and sustained acid suppression. This suppression is critical for increasing the stability and efficacy of the co-administered antibiotics within the gastric environment. Samsung Medical Center is conducting a Phase 4 clinical trial to assess the efficacy of this 14-day regimen, including its performance in patients with clarithromycin-resistant H. pylori strains.
