Overview

Zavegepant is a small molecule calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) receptor antagonist indicated for the acute treatment of migraine with or without aura in adults. It is administered as a nasal spray and works by blocking the action of CGRP, a neuropeptide involved in migraine pathophysiology through vasodilation and modulation of neuronal excitability. Zavegepant provides rapid relief from migraine symptoms but does not prevent future attacks or reduce their frequency.
