Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ZB021 is an investigational dual IL-17A and IL-17AF inhibitor being developed by Zenas BioPharma for the treatment of rheumatic and dermatologic diseases. Licensed from InnoCare Pharma, the compound is designed to neutralize both IL-17A homodimers (IL-17AA) and IL-17AF heterodimers, thereby blocking pro-inflammatory signaling pathways associated with autoimmune conditions. Although typically classified as a biologic or antibody in some pipeline listings, ZB021 is notably described as an oral inhibitor with favorable pharmacokinetic and ADME properties. Preclinical studies have demonstrated efficacy comparable to existing anti-IL-17 biologics in animal models. As of early 2026, it is positioned for Phase 1 clinical trials, with initial data expected by the end of that year.
