ZBTB46-siRNA is a small interfering RNA (siRNA) designed to silence the expression of the Zinc finger and BTB domain containing 46 (ZBTB46) transcription factor. ZBTB46 is a member of the BTB-ZF protein family and is typically expressed in endothelial cells (ECs) and dendritic cells. In the context of vascular biology, ZBTB46 is down-regulated in areas of disturbed flow, which are prone to atherosclerosis. Silencing ZBTB46 with siRNA leads to a significant reduction in the expression of the anti-apoptotic protein BCL2A1, thereby increasing the susceptibility of endothelial cells to apoptosis and exacerbating injury from oxidative stress. This tool is primarily used in research to investigate the molecular mechanisms of endothelial activation and the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis.
