ZD2202

ZD2202 is a long-acting formulation of ropivacaine, a local anesthetic of the amide type. Developed by Zhejiang Zhida Pharmaceutical, it is designed to provide prolonged analgesia for the management of postoperative pain. Ropivacaine works by blocking sodium ion influx in nerve fibers, thereby inhibiting the initiation and conduction of nerve impulses. As a long-acting formulation, ZD2202 aims to extend the duration of the anesthetic effect compared to standard ropivacaine hydrochloride solutions, potentially reducing the need for supplemental opioids and improving patient recovery after surgery. It is currently being evaluated in Phase I clinical trials in China.
