Overview
Zeneo hydrocortisone is a proprietary, ready-to-use liquid formulation of hydrocortisone delivered via the ZENEO needleless autoinjector device. It is being developed as an emergency rescue treatment for adrenal crisis in patients with adrenal insufficiency. The product represents a significant innovation over existing injectable forms by eliminating the need for reconstitution and manual syringe use. Hydrocortisone is a synthetic glucocorticoid that acts as an agonist at the glucocorticoid receptor to replace deficient endogenous corticosteroids and suppress inflammation and immune responses[2][3][4]. The device enables rapid administration in life-threatening situations such as adrenal crisis[4][9]. Developed by Crossject, with Eton Pharmaceuticals holding US/Canadian rights, it targets both hospital and outpatient markets for adrenal insufficiency management[3][4].
