zenuzolac

Zenuzolac (formerly GLS-1027 or VGX-1027) is an orally bioavailable small molecule immunomodulator developed by GeneOne Life Science and VGX Pharmaceuticals. It acts by inhibiting the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines, including TNF-alpha, IL-1beta, and IL-6, primarily through the modulation of the NF-kappaB and p38 MAPK signaling pathways. Unlike direct cytokine antagonists, zenuzolac regulates the upstream signaling involved in the inflammatory response. It has been investigated for the treatment of various autoimmune and inflammatory diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis and type 1 diabetes, and more recently for the prevention of severe pneumonitis in patients with SARS-CoV-2 infection.
