Overview
Zerobase cream is a topical emollient formulated to moisturize, soften, and protect the skin. It is primarily used for symptomatic relief of red, inflamed, dry, or chapped skin and as an adjunct in the management of eczema. The mechanism of action involves forming an occlusive barrier on the skin surface with paraffins (liquid paraffin 11% w/w and white soft paraffin), which helps retain moisture within the stratum corneum and restore the natural skin barrier. This reduces transepidermal water loss and protects against external irritants. Additional ingredients include cetostearyl alcohol (an emollient and emulsifier), macrogol cetostearyl ether (emulsifier), sodium dihydrogen phosphate dihydrate (buffering agent), chlorocresol (preservative), phosphoric acid (buffering agent), and purified water[1][2][3][5][8]. The product can be used as both a leave-on moisturizer and a soap substitute.
