ZetaMet is a synthetic small-molecule therapy developed by Zetagen Therapeutics for the treatment of metastatic bone lesions, particularly those arising from advanced cancers such as breast cancer. Delivered via a proprietary controlled-release carrier directly to affected bone sites, it operates through a novel molecular pathway that initiates tumor cell death while also stimulating stem cells to promote healthy bone growth (osteoblast activation) and inhibiting cells responsible for bone degradation (osteoclast inhibition). Preclinical and early clinical data have demonstrated its ability to resolve lytic lesions, reduce pain, prevent fractures, and potentially increase survival rates in patients with metastatic cancer to the bone. The drug has received FDA Breakthrough Device Designation and is currently in Phase 2a clinical trials for metastatic breast cancer with bone involvement[1][2][3][4][5].
