Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Zevaria is a monoclonal antibody biosimilar of bevacizumab, currently under development by MiGenTra for oncology indications. As an anti-VEGF-A antibody, it functions by binding to the Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor A (VEGF-A) protein, thereby preventing it from interacting with its receptors (VEGFR-1 and VEGFR-2) on the surface of endothelial cells. This neutralization inhibits angiogenesis, the process of new blood vessel formation, which is critical for tumor growth and metastasis. MiGenTra is focusing on providing access to this and other biosimilars within the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region.
