Overview

ZHB206 is a recombinant humanized anti-glycoprotein VI (GPVI) antibody fragment (Fab) being developed for the treatment of acute ischemic stroke (AIS). GPVI is a platelet-specific collagen receptor that plays a critical role in the initiation of arterial thrombosis. By blocking the binding of GPVI to exposed subendothelial collagen, ZHB206 inhibits platelet activation and thrombus growth. A key therapeutic advantage of targeting GPVI is the potential to decouple antithrombotic efficacy from bleeding risk, as GPVI deficiency in humans does not lead to severe bleeding diathesis. The drug is currently undergoing clinical evaluation in China by Changzhou Qianhong Bio-pharma and its research arm, Jiangsu Zhonghong Biopharmaceutical Institute.
