Zhen Gan Xi Feng Tang

Zhen Gan Xi Feng Tang is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) herbal formula developed in 1918 by Zhang Xichun. It is designed to pacify the liver, extinguish internal wind, nourish yin, anchor yang, and sedate hyperactive liver yang. The formula contains 12 herbs including Achyranthes root (Niu Xi), Hematite (Dai Zhe Shi), Dragon Bone (Long Gu), Oyster Shell (Mu Li), Tortoise Plastron (Gui Ban), White Peony Root (Bai Shao), Scrophularia Root (Xuan Shen), Asparagus Root/Tuber (Tian Dong/Tian Men Dong), Virgate Wormwood Herb/Artemisia Capillaris/Yin Chen Hao, Toosendan Fruit/Melia Fruit/Chuan Lian Zi, Barley Sprout/Rice Sprouts/Mai Ya, and Licorice Root/Gan Cao[1][3][4][5][6].
