Overview
Zhengchaihu Granules (正柴胡饮颗粒) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) product manufactured by Nantong Pharmaceutical Factory, a subsidiary of Jinghua Pharmaceutical Group. It is an antipyretic and analgesic formulation used to treat the wind-cold type of common cold and influenza. The product is based on a classic TCM formula and contains extracts from six herbal ingredients: Bupleurum (Chaihu), Saposhnikovia root (Fangfeng), Tangerine peel (Chenpi), Red Peony root (Chishao), Licorice (Gancao), and Fresh Ginger (Shengjiang). It is indicated for symptoms including fever, chills, headache, nasal congestion, sneezing, and cough. Zhengchaihu Granules is an approved over-the-counter (OTC) medication in China and is frequently included in national treatment guidelines for respiratory viral infections.
