Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Zhengqi tablets (ZQP) are a modernized traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) herbal patent preparation developed and manufactured by Shanghai Hutchison Pharmaceuticals. Derived from the classical 'Huoxiang Zhengqi Powder' from the Song-dynasty text 'Taiping Huimin Ju Fang', the formulation has been refined to improve efficacy and safety. It is composed of multiple herbal extracts, including Pogostemon cablin oil, Radix aucklandiae, Atractylodes lancea, Magnolia officinalis, Pinellia ternate, orange peel, Poria cocos, perilla leaf oil, Zingiber officinale, and Glycyrrhiza uralensis. Zhengqi tablets are primarily indicated for gastrointestinal colds, dispelling dampness, and harmonizing the stomach and spleen. Additionally, they have been recommended for asymptomatic COVID-19 infections by the 2022 Shanghai expert consensus on TCM diagnosis and treatment, exhibiting dual anti-inflammatory and anti-viral properties.
