Overview

Zhengtian capsules is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation primarily used for the treatment of various types of headaches, including migraines, tension-type headaches, and headaches associated with cervical spondylosis. Developed by researchers at Dongzhimen Hospital affiliated with the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, the formulation is based on the principles of nourishing the blood, calming the liver, dispelling wind, and activating collaterals. It contains a complex mixture of 15 herbal ingredients, including *Uncaria rhynchophylla*, *Ligusticum chuanxiong*, and *Angelica sinensis*. The mechanism of action involves the modulation of neurotransmitters and vasoactive peptides, specifically the downregulation of calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) and the modulation of serotonin (5-HT) levels, alongside anti-inflammatory and microcirculation-improving effects. It is a widely recognized treatment in China, manufactured by China Resources Sanjiu Medical & Pharmaceutical.
