Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Zhengtian pills (also known as Zheng Tian Wan) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formulation used for the treatment and prophylaxis of various types of headaches, including migraines, tension-type headaches, premenstrual headaches, and headaches associated with cervical spondylosis. Developed by researchers at Dongzhimen Hospital affiliated with the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine and manufactured by China Resources Sanjiu Medical & Pharmaceutical, it is a multi-herb formulation consisting of 15 traditional Chinese herbs, including Uncaria rhynchophylla, Ligusticum chuanxiong, and Angelica sinensis. Zhengtian pills act through multiple pathways, including the modulation of neurotransmitters and vasoactive peptides (such as the downregulation of calcitonin gene-related peptide and modulation of serotonin, dopamine, and beta-endorphin levels), as well as anti-inflammatory, microcirculation-improving, and neuroprotective effects.
