Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is a combination therapy consisting of Zhengyuan capsule, cyclophosphamide, docetaxel, and doxorubicin. Zhengyuan capsule is a traditional Chinese medicine formulation used as an adjunct to chemotherapy. Cyclophosphamide is an alkylating agent that interferes with DNA replication and cell division. Docetaxel is a taxane-class chemotherapeutic that stabilizes microtubules and inhibits cell division. Doxorubicin is an anthracycline antibiotic that intercalates DNA and inhibits topoisomerase II, leading to cytotoxicity in rapidly dividing cells. The combination has been studied primarily for the treatment of triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC), where Zhengyuan capsule was shown to improve the short-term curative effect, reduce side effects from chemotherapy, improve quality of life, and decrease recurrence/metastasis rates when added to standard neoadjuvant chemotherapy regimens containing cyclophosphamide, docetaxel, and doxorubicin[1][2].
