Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Zhenlong Xingnao Capsule (ZXC) is a Tibetan medicine formulation used primarily for the treatment of ischemic stroke. Preclinical studies have demonstrated that ZXC exerts neuroprotective effects in both in vitro and in vivo models of cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury. The mechanism of action involves reducing reactive oxygen species (ROS), modulating amino acid neurotransmitter levels, and regulating the expression of apoptosis-related proteins such as Bcl-2, Bax, caspase-3, p38 MAPK, and nuclear factor kappa B (NF-κB). These actions contribute to improved antioxidant capacity and reduced neuronal damage during ischemic events[1].
