zhenshu tiaozhi

Zhenshu Tiaozhi (贞术调脂胶囊) is a proprietary Chinese medicine compound capsule developed and used primarily in China. It is composed of eight traditional Chinese medicinal ingredients, including Ligustrum lucidum (酒女贞子), Citrus medica (佛手), Eucommia ulmoides with salt processing (盐杜仲), Atractylodes macrocephala processed with bran (麸炒白术), Panax notoginseng (三七), Salvia miltiorrhiza (丹参), Cirsium japonicum (大蓟), and Coptis chinensis (黄连)[1][2]. The formulation is designed to "tonify the kidney and liver, strengthen the spleen, resolve turbidity, remove stasis, and lower lipids." Its primary clinical indications are hyperlipidemia caused by deficiency of liver and kidney or internal obstruction by phlegm-stasis according to traditional Chinese medicine theory[2][9]. Clinical studies suggest it can reduce blood lipid levels in patients with hyperlipidemia[3][6], improve glycemic control in type 2 diabetes mellitus[5][8], ameliorate fatty tissue fibrosis[4], protect against non-alcoholic fatty liver disease[10], and may have anti-atherosclerotic effects based on animal models[7]. The mechanism of action involves multi-target regulation typical for herbal compounds; proposed mechanisms include modulation of lipid metabolism, improvement of insulin resistance, reduction of hepatic lipid deposition, antioxidative effects, anti-inflammatory actions via gut microbiota modulation, inhibition of adipose tissue fibrosis, and protection against vascular injury.
