Overview
Zhenyuan Capsules (振源胶囊) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) developed and marketed by Jilin Jian Yisheng Pharmaceutical. It is an oral capsule formulation primarily composed of total ginsenosides extracted from the fruit of Panax ginseng, including ginsenoside Re, Rg1, Rb1, Rc, Rb2, and Rd. The drug is indicated for the treatment of stable coronary heart disease (CHD), particularly in patients with comorbid glucose and lipid metabolism disorders. In the context of traditional Chinese medicine, it is used to treat Qi and Yin deficiency syndrome, which may manifest as angina pectoris, cardiac arrhythmia, type 2 diabetes, and neurasthenia. Research indicates that its therapeutic effects in CHD may be partially mediated by ginsenoside Re binding to vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGFA), which helps modulate vascular endothelial function.
