Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Zhenzhu Mingmu Diye, also known as Pearl Mingmu eye drops, is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM)-based ophthalmic formulation primarily used to treat visual fatigue, chronic conjunctivitis, and dry eye syndrome. The drug is a combination product containing Margarita liquid (pearl hydrolysate) and Borneolum Syntheticum (synthetic borneol). It is often formulated as a colloidal solution to improve the stability and dispersion of its active components, thereby extending the residence time on the ocular surface and enhancing absorption. Mechanistically, the borneol component acts as an agonist of the Transient Receptor Potential Melastatin 8 (TRPM8) channel, which is believed to stimulate tear secretion and provide a cooling, soothing effect. The pearl hydrolysate provides essential amino acids and trace elements that support ocular tissue health. The product is developed and manufactured by several entities, including Suzhou Industrial Park Tianlong Pharmacy Co., Ltd. and Suzhou Lezhu Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.
