Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Zhenzhu Qingyuan Granule is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formula developed for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), particularly in patients with the liver–stomach stagnated heat pattern. The granules are composed of several herbal and mineral ingredients, including Margaritifera Concha (Zhenzhumu), Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium Viride (Qingpi), Corydalis Rhizoma (Yuanhu), Aurantii Fructus Immaturus (Zhishi), Fritillariae Thunbergii Bulbus (Zhebeimu), Sepiae Endoconcha (Wuzeigu), Coptidis Rhizoma (Huanglian), and Euodiae Fructus (Wuzhuyu). The main active components identified include quercetin, luteolin, and β-sitosterol. Mechanistically, network pharmacology studies suggest that these compounds act on multiple targets such as tumor protein 53, protein kinase B, and tumor necrosis factor to exert anti-inflammatory effects and regulate gastrointestinal function. Clinical trials have shown that Zhenzhu Qingyuan Granule significantly improves GERD symptoms compared to standard therapy alone[1][2].
