Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Zhi-Yang Ping-Fu decoction is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) herbal formulation developed by the China-Japan Friendship Hospital for the external treatment of skin toxicities associated with targeted cancer therapies. It is specifically indicated for moderate to severe rashes induced by epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) inhibitors, such as those used in the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer. The decoction is applied topically and is designed to alleviate symptoms including pruritus and inflammation, while also potentially modulating the skin microbiota. Clinical evaluation has focused on its efficacy in reducing rash severity and improving patient quality of life compared to standard treatments or placebo.
