Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Zhibitai is a Chinese patent medicine formulated as an oral capsule, primarily used for the treatment of hyperlipidemia and related cardiovascular conditions. It is composed of a family of naturally occurring statins derived from traditional Chinese medicinal ingredients. The main mechanism involves lipid-lowering effects similar to those of conventional statins, reducing total cholesterol (TC), triglycerides (TG), and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), while increasing high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C). Clinical studies have shown that Zhibitai can be used alone or in combination with conventional therapies such as atorvastatin, providing comparable efficacy in lipid management with a lower incidence of adverse events. It is widely used in China for patients intolerant to synthetic statins or seeking alternative therapies[1][3][7].
