Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Zhima Qianzi Capsule is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) hospital preparation developed by The First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is specifically formulated for the treatment of bortezomib-induced peripheral neuropathy (BIPN) in patients with multiple myeloma, particularly those whose symptoms are refractory to standard treatments like mecobalamin. The capsule is designed based on TCM principles to nourish yin, clear heat, and dredge collaterals, addressing the neurotoxicity associated with proteasome inhibitors. It is currently being evaluated in clinical trials to assess its efficacy in improving sensory and motor neuropathy symptoms.
