Overview

Zhiyuanning Baizhi bacteriostatic is a botanical intranasal formulation containing extracts of *Angelica dahurica* (Baizhi), a traditional Chinese medicinal herb. It is being developed and evaluated for the treatment of allergic rhinitis, focusing on the relief of nasal and ocular symptoms and improvement in quality of life. *Angelica dahurica* is known for its anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and anti-allergic properties, which are primarily attributed to its coumarin constituents such as imperatorin and isoimperatorin. While categorized as a bacteriostatic agent under Chinese hygiene regulations, the product is currently undergoing a Phase 0 clinical trial sponsored by the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University Yulin Hospital to assess its clinical efficacy and safety profile in adults with allergic rhinitis.
