Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Zhong Yi Gao (肿意膏) is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) external ointment primarily used in oncology for the relief of cancer-related pain and the reduction of tumor-associated swelling. It is formulated based on the TCM principles of resolving phlegm, dissipating masses, and detoxifying (化痰散结, 解毒消肿). The preparation typically contains potent herbal ingredients such as *Arisaema erubescens* (Tian Nan Xing), *Pinellia ternata* (Ban Xia), and *Bufo gargarizans* (toad venom/Chan Su) extract. It is applied topically to the site of the tumor or pain. It is often used as an adjuvant therapy in patients with advanced malignancies to improve quality of life by managing localized symptoms like lymph node enlargement or subcutaneous nodules.
