Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Zhuanggu Shexiang Zhitong Gao, also known as Bone-strengthening Musk Analgesic Plaster, is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) topical plaster developed and marketed by Lingrui Pharmaceutical. The product is a complex herbal formulation containing artificial musk as a key active ingredient, along with numerous other traditional Chinese medicinal herbs including Radix Aconiti kusnezoffii (生草乌), Radix Aconiti (生川乌), frankincense (乳香), myrrh (没药), Semen Strychni (生马钱子), clove (丁香), cinnamon (肉桂), Schizonepeta (荆芥), and Saposhnikovia (防风). These are combined with chemical analgesics and counter-irritants such as methyl salicylate, menthol, borneol, and camphor. The plaster is indicated for dispelling wind-dampness, promoting blood circulation, and relieving pain associated with rheumatic joint pain, muscle pain, bone/joint pain, and sprains. It works through the modulation of TRP channels (TRPM8 and TRPV1) and the inhibition of local inflammatory mediators like cyclooxygenase.
