Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Zhuangyaojianshen (壮腰健身丸, also known as Zhuang Yao Jian Shen Wan) is a traditional Chinese medicine formula commonly used as a dietary supplement. It is formulated to support kidney health and alleviate symptoms such as lower back pain, weakness of the waist and knees, rheumatism-related bone pain, neurasthenia (nervous exhaustion), frequent urination, tinnitus, and impotence. The formula typically contains herbal ingredients including Cuscuta chinensis seed (Tu Si Zi), Spatholobus suberectus stem (Ji Xue Teng), Rosa laevigata fruit (Jin Ying Zi), Ligustrum lucidum fruit (Nu Zhen Zi), and Taxillus chinensis top (Sang Ji Sheng). Its mechanism of action is based on traditional Chinese medicine principles—primarily nourishing the kidney and liver systems to strengthen bones and muscles while expelling wind-dampness. There are no established mechanisms of action according to modern pharmacology or clinical trials recognized by regulatory agencies[3][4][5][6].
