Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Zhuli Capsule is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation derived from the extract of bamboo species, specifically *Phyllostachys glauca* McClure or *Phyllostachys nuda* McClure. It is primarily utilized for its expectorant properties to treat Phlegm-heat Syndrome (Tan-re Zheng) in patients experiencing acute exacerbations of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (AECOPD) or chronic bronchitis. The treatment aims to facilitate the clearance of sputum and improve clinical control rates when used as an adjunct to standard medical therapies, such as bronchodilators, glucocorticoids, or antibacterial drugs. It is currently being evaluated in Phase 4 clinical trials under the sponsorship of Dr. Zhong Wang.
