Zhuling is a traditional Chinese medicinal substance derived from the sclerotium of the fungus *Polyporus umbellatus* (also known as *Grifola umbellata*). It is primarily utilized in East Asian medicine for its diuretic and immunomodulatory properties. The drug's primary active constituent is **Polyporus Polysaccharide (PPS)**, which has demonstrated the ability to enhance the therapeutic efficacy of Bacillus Calmette-Guérin (BCG) therapy in bladder cancer models while simultaneously reducing treatment-associated side effects. Its mechanism of action involves the direct activation of **Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4)** on dendritic cells, which promotes the expression of costimulatory molecules such as CD86 and CD40, thereby strengthening the anti-tumor immune response.
