Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Zhuye shigao granule is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) hospital preparation developed by the Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine at the Hainan branch of the PLA General Hospital. It is a granular formulation based on the classic "Zhuye Shigao Tang" formula, which traditionally consists of Lophatherum gracile (Zhu Ye), Gypsum fibrosum (Shi Gao), Pinellia ternata (Ban Xia), Ophiopogon japonicus (Mai Dong), Panax ginseng (Ren Shen), Glycyrrhiza uralensis (Gan Cao), and Oryza sativa (Jing Mi). The preparation is specifically indicated for the treatment of recurrent oral ulcers and chronic pharyngitis. Its therapeutic mechanism involves clearing residual heat, nourishing yin to generate body fluids, and harmonizing the stomach. Pharmacologically, the formula exhibits anti-inflammatory and mucosal-protective properties, targeting the underlying inflammation and tissue damage associated with chronic oral and pharyngeal conditions.
