Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Zhuyun Pills is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal preparation developed by the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine, specifically within its Department of Gynecology. The formula is primarily indicated for the treatment of female infertility, threatened abortion, and recurrent miscarriage. It is based on the clinical experience and academic lineage of renowned TCM gynecologists such as Professor Luo Yuankai and Professor Luo Songping. The preparation is designed to tonify the kidney, replenish essence, and regulate the Chong and Ren meridians to stabilize pregnancy. Mechanistically, Zhuyun Pills is thought to regulate the hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian (HPO) axis, enhance luteal function, and improve endometrial receptivity. Research suggests it may also modulate the immune environment at the maternal-fetal interface by favoring a Th2-dominant cytokine profile and increasing the expression of progesterone-induced blocking factor (PIBF), thereby supporting the maintenance of gestation.
