Overview
Zi Yin and Yang Formula (also known as Nourishing Yin and Replenishing Yang formula) is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) compound prescription developed by the Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine. It is specifically designed for the treatment of anovulatory infertility, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), and diminished ovarian reserve (DOR). The formula is administered as a sequential therapy (Tuning Weekly) consisting of Nourishing Yin Granules and Replenishing Yang Granules to align with the phases of the menstrual cycle. Its mechanism of action involves tonifying the kidney and regulating the menstrual cycle by modulating the ovarian biological clock, specifically targeting the expression of clock genes such as CLOCK and BMAL1, as well as the Klotho protein, to restore rhythmic follicular development and improve reproductive outcomes.
