Zijin Tougu Spray is a topical Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation developed by the Affiliated Hospital of Guizhou Medical University (formerly Guiyang Medical College). It is primarily indicated for the treatment of acute closed soft tissue injuries and joint sprains. The preparation is designed to promote blood circulation, resolve blood stasis, reduce inflammation, and alleviate pain. Pharmacologically, it has been shown to modulate inflammatory mediators, including the reduction of prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) levels and the downregulation of pro-inflammatory cytokines. It is a registered hospital preparation in Guizhou Province, China, and is commonly used in sports medicine and orthopedics for localized relief of swelling and discomfort following trauma.
