Overview

Zimberelimab is a fully human immunoglobulin G4 (IgG4) monoclonal antibody that targets the programmed cell death protein 1 (PD‑1) receptor, a key immune checkpoint on T cells. By binding to PD‑1, zimberelimab blocks its interaction with PD-L1 and PD-L2 ligands, thereby releasing the inhibition of T-cell activity and enhancing anti-tumor immune responses. It is classified as an immune checkpoint inhibitor and is used primarily in oncology for various solid tumors and hematologic malignancies. Zimberelimab was developed by Arcus Biosciences, Gloria Biosciences, and Taiho Pharmaceutical. It has been approved in China for relapsed or refractory classical Hodgkin lymphoma and recurrent/metastatic cervical cancer, with ongoing Phase III trials in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), upper gastrointestinal cancers, and other advanced solid tumors[2][3][7].
