Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ZINC02886919 is a small molecule inhibitor of GD3 synthase (ST8SIA1), an enzyme that regulates GD2 biosynthesis and is highly expressed in breast cancer stem-like cells (BCSCs) in triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC). By inhibiting ST8SIA1 activity, ZINC02886919 decreases the percentage of GD2+ BCSCs and suppresses mammosphere and soft agar colony formation in vitro. It is being investigated for its potential to inhibit BCSC function, tumor growth, and metastasis in TNBC.
