Zinlirvimab (GS-2872) is a human monoclonal broadly neutralizing antibody (bNAb) that targets the V3 loop of the HIV-1 envelope protein, specifically the N332 glycan-dependent epitope. Originally developed at Rockefeller University as 10-1074 and subsequently licensed by Gilead Sciences, it is designed to neutralize a wide range of HIV-1 strains. Zinlirvimab is being investigated as part of long-acting combination regimens, often paired with the bNAb teropavimab and the capsid inhibitor lenacapavir, for the treatment and potential prevention of HIV-1 infection. Its mechanism involves binding to the viral envelope glycoprotein gp120, preventing viral entry into host cells and potentially facilitating the clearance of infected cells through effector functions.
