ZIONE

**Zione** is a non-specific Indian antihypertensive brand designation rather than a single chemical entity. The base Zione 6.25 mg tablet contains **chlorthalidone**, a thiazide-like diuretic used for hypertension and edema. Closely named products under the Zione brand family include fixed-dose combinations of chlorthalidone with an angiotensin II type 1 receptor blocker: losartan in Zione DSL, telmisartan in Zione DS T, and olmesartan medoxomil in Zione O. These products lower blood pressure through renal sodium and water excretion and, in combination products, blockade of angiotensin II-mediated vasoconstriction.
