Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ZIP7 antibody (also known as anti-ZIP7 antibody or anti-SLC39A7 antibody) is a therapeutic antibody program targeting the zinc transporter SLC39A7 (ZIP7). Developed by Cancer Antibodies in collaboration with Augusta University, the University of Virginia, and Tuning Fork Bio, the antibody was discovered using the proprietary Oncotope Platform. ZIP7 is a zinc transporter normally localized to the endoplasmic reticulum and Golgi apparatus, but it is aberrantly expressed on the cell surface of certain malignant cells, including triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) and castration-resistant prostate cancer (CRPC). By selectively binding to cell-surface ZIP7, the antibody induces tumor-specific cytotoxicity while sparing normal tissues, which lack surface expression of the transporter. Preclinical studies have demonstrated selective tumor cell killing in vitro and in vivo, highlighting its potential as a safer, targeted immunotherapy for breast and prostate cancers.
