Zirconium-89 cetuximab (89Zr-cetuximab) is an investigational radiopharmaceutical used for immuno-positron emission tomography (immuno-PET) imaging. It consists of the monoclonal antibody **cetuximab**, which targets the extracellular domain of the **epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR)**, labeled with the positron-emitting radioisotope **Zirconium-89**. This imaging agent is primarily developed to non-invasively visualize and quantify EGFR expression in tumors, helping to identify patients who are most likely to benefit from EGFR-targeted therapies like cetuximab or panitumumab. By tracking the distribution and binding of the antibody in vivo, 89Zr-cetuximab PET can provide insights into tumor heterogeneity and treatment response in various cancers, including colorectal and head and neck cancers.
