Zirconium Zr-89-DFO-daratumumab is a radioimmunoconjugate consisting of daratumumab, a human IgG1 kappa monoclonal antibody targeting CD38, radiolabeled with zirconium-89 via desferrioxamine (DFO) conjugation. It is designed for CD38-targeted PET imaging of multiple myeloma, allowing non-invasive visualization of CD38-positive myeloma cells. This compound serves as a potential companion diagnostic for daratumumab therapy, helping to identify patients who may benefit from treatment. In clinical studies, it has demonstrated high specificity and sensitivity for detecting myeloma lesions, with successful visualization of both known and previously unknown sites of disease.
