Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Zirconium Zr 89 panitumumab is an investigational **EGFR-targeted immuno-PET radiopharmaceutical** comprising the fully human IgG2 anti-EGFR monoclonal antibody panitumumab radiolabeled with the positron-emitting isotope zirconium-89, generally through a desferrioxamine chelator. It binds the extracellular domain of epidermal growth factor receptor on tumor cells, enabling PET visualization and assessment of EGFR-expressing lesions rather than intended therapeutic irradiation. It has been produced at clinical grade and evaluated in imaging studies including colorectal cancer and head and neck squamous cell carcinoma.
