Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Zishui Daohuo oral liquid combined with Kujiu mouthwash is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) therapeutic regimen developed by West China Hospital. This combination therapy is specifically designed to manage and reduce the duration of severe radiotherapy-induced oral mucositis (RIOM) in patients undergoing treatment for head and neck malignancies, including nasopharyngeal carcinoma. The regimen involves the oral administration of the Zishui Daohuo solution alongside topical gargling with the Kujiu mouthwash. The treatment aims to leverage the anti-inflammatory and mucosal-protective properties of its herbal constituents to mitigate the painful and dose-limiting side effects of radiation therapy on the oral cavity.
