Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Zithroquin is a macrolide antibiotic containing azithromycin, marketed by Vismit Lifesciences as an oral suspension. It is primarily indicated for the treatment of various bacterial infections, including respiratory tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and pediatric infections such as otitis media. The drug exerts its antibacterial activity by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit of susceptible bacteria, thereby inhibiting RNA-dependent protein synthesis. As a generic formulation, it provides a broad-spectrum therapeutic option against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative pathogens.
