Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Ziyinliangxue is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formula developed by the Shanghai Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, specifically indicated for the treatment of chronic glomerulonephritis (CGN). The formula is designed based on the TCM principle of nourishing Yin and cooling the blood (Ziyin Liangxue) to address the syndrome of Yin deficiency and internal heat often observed in renal patients. It typically consists of a combination of herbal ingredients such as Rehmannia glutinosa and Scrophularia ningpoensis. Clinically, it is used to reduce proteinuria and hematuria, modulate the immune response, and slow the progression of renal fibrosis. Research into its mechanism suggests it acts by inhibiting inflammatory pathways, regulating the Th17/Treg cell balance, and downregulating pro-fibrotic factors like TGF-beta1.
