Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Ziyuglycoside II is a triterpene saponin derived from the root of *Sanguisorba officinalis* L. (Diyu). It is the primary active constituent of Diyushengbai tablets, a traditional Chinese medicine formulation widely used to prevent and treat leukopenia, particularly that induced by chemotherapy or immunosuppressive agents like azathioprine. The compound promotes hematopoiesis by stimulating the proliferation and differentiation of hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells (HSPCs), including long-term and short-term hematopoietic stem cells (LT-HSCs and ST-HSCs) and multipotent progenitor cells (MPPs). Beyond its hematopoietic effects, ziyuglycoside II has been investigated for its anti-inflammatory and anti-tumor properties in various research settings.
