Overview
Zizhu Ointment is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) topical ointment composed of multiple herbal ingredients, including cinnabar (朱砂), lithospermum root (紫草), astragalus root (黄芪), dragon’s blood resin (龙血竭), donkey-hide gelatin (阿胶), and borneol (冰片) in a specific ratio. It is used for the treatment of chronic wounds such as diabetic foot ulcers and venous leg ulcers. The ointment is believed to promote wound healing by reducing inflammation, promoting granulation tissue formation, and enhancing local immunity[1][2][10]. The mechanism of action involves anti-inflammatory effects, promotion of fibroblast activity, and stimulation of angiogenesis at the wound site[2][10].
